I feel so deeply for all those who have come and gone before me in this industry. Those who have turned their back due to bad habits, training and poor results. I wish I would have know half the things I know now back then. Not only would I have saved myself from the frustration but you as well.

It doesn’t matter which avenue you decide to take in order to promote your marketing techniques, the primary factors remain consistent.

Three of the utmost importance include:

  1. Determination
  2. Desire
  3. Consistency

Here’s why:

When I was first introduced into the MLM Industry I was just fresh out of college and entering the corporate world.

Struggling financially, as a newly married woman and baby on the way, I was desperate to supplement the income we had lost when my husband was laid off from his job. My mother actually introduced me to network marketing and her excitement soon totally engulfed me. I was so caught up in the $$$$ and the promise of a debt free life style, that I drove right in full force.

It would be much easier telling you what I haven’t done, rather than what I had :)

I have made numerous cold calls, door to door sales, passed out flyers (in laundry mats, businesses, malls, fairs, expos…), purchased 100’s of business cards, which are still starring at me! I can’t even begin to tell you the amount of money that I put into advertising and materials, most of which was a complete waste! A whole lot of work for little to no payout! For the amount of time and energy that I spent really trying to work by business, I felt as though I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. There came a point when I threw up my hands and said I was done…ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

At that point and time, God forbid if I were to join another company….because I had completely exhausted all of my warm market. After business opportunity #2 they pretty much just slammed the door right in my face. I am sure many of you can relate. When you get to that point you seem to lose hope.

Spinning my wheels and being tugged UMPTEEN different directions this is what I had going for me during my first 6 years in this industry…

~ I Had My Goals Established

~ I Was A Die Hard Student

~ I Was Dedicated And Had My Eye On The Prize

~ Most Importantly, I Was Hungry For Knowledge

Looking back at myself two years ago, it didn’t get me very far. I was the laughing stock of me closest relatives and mocked consistently by my friends, “Tara, are you rollin’ in the dough? When are you off to Hawaii?” Yeah, sure I understand now but at the time I was so mad at how the industry had let me down!

If you haven’t heard of Pareto’s 80/20 law, it states that 80% of our energy should be directed to our attributes and the other 20% is time that we should be spending improving our imperfections.

The reason why so many fail day in and day out is because #1 Inconsistency. Letting obstacles get in our way which then they turn into excuses and soon after you are back at square one with no money and no leads. #2 Time Management. What good does it do you if you spend 12 hours of your day training and reading and calling your upline for answer while the other 3-4 hours are spent actually doing things that will grow and empower you business and create a team environment for your leads, as well as, implementing your marketing techniques to generate those leads. Do you see what is wrong with this picture? Focus your time and energy are things that you do well and stay productive! You must learn how to manage your time properly!

Are you going to receive a check in the mail for that book that took you 8 hours to read? Or how about the nonstop calls to your upline begging them to just pretty much do everything for you, get you totally setup, and by the way do you mind calling…’Mary  Jane’ because I am too new to actually try to recruit? The answer is NO, you will not!

The best way to overcome your fears is to begin facing them head on! Take the “deer by the horns” so to speak and just do it! The more you get off your butt and begin proving to yourself that can, the easier it will become and the better you’ll get at it.

In network marketing, you need to position yourself as a leader. Leaders take control and make things happen. Spectators just observe! Which are you?

Once I was able to grasp hold of this concept and began implementing into my own life….the rest just fell into place!

Going from 5 years of bad luck to within 2 years of pure freedom was well worth the wait. Do I wish I was able to make it happen sooner? Of course, but if it wasn’t for my determination, I wouldn’t even be where I am today! Focus one day at a time and pride yourself on your abilities not your faults!

Welcome back for another great blog!

For those of you who have either done network marketing in the past or in it right now, you are all very familiar with the door-to-door sales pitches. You see when MLM first began, before the rise of the internet and all it’s glory, people were reliant on the “old school” techniques.

Okay, what do I mean by “old school”??

You remember the days of people knocking on your door trying to sell you vitamins or air fresheners? How about Aunt Sally, who would call you trying to get you to come to another weekly meeting for Avon or MaryKay? The trips to the mall, only to find when you returned to your car a flier stuck to your windshield advertising another freebie if you will call this number!

Let’s face it…

Sales and marketing techniques come and go. Yeah sure, you might still have some luck applying the old school models but really it’s a thing of the past.

Honestly, how many people do you know that are sitting at home during the day? I can probably think of enough to count of my fingers. Majority of us are working our 9-5 to put dinner on the table. With that said, do you see how door-to-door sales would be incredibly hard? Sure, you could try to hit up a few business, but just walking in off the street is like jumping off the deep end.

My point being, you might want to use this type of technique with extreme caution and really weigh out your surroundings to see if it is a perfect match for what you are looking to accomplish.

Hmmm…remember all those sleepless nights sitting around making cold calls? Have you been guilty of buying “FRESH” leads that turned out to be colder than a dead fish? I can laugh about it now…but at the time I was about ready to throw my phone across the room. My upline use to always tell me, “You’re gonna go through a lot of no’s before you get a YES! Just hang in there.” Not exactly something you want to hear after hours and hours of calling and being hung up on…is it?!?

I am here to tell you…THERE IS A MUCH BETTER WAY!

I have ran in circles chasing my tail for years, until I was introduced to some really great mentors who taught me about the two most POWERFUL tools I could EVER own! Any guess???

You see for years people have pushed their business when trying to market.
